The big deal: Saturday, April 4, I’m at MANGIA AT THE BLAKE — the Martin County Library event I’ve been doing for several years now. This year’s promises to be the best ever. Come and join me and the guests, 9-3 (taste my tropical fruit salsa), and hear food and cookbook authors Valerie Hart (The Bounty of Central Florida and The New Tradition cookbooks), Marsha Dean Phelts (The American Beach Cookbook), and Cynthia Thuma (The Mongo Mango Cookbook). It’s FREE— and fun, with food demos — and tastings — vendor and food booths, kids activities and more. The Blake Library, 2351 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart.

Spring cooking and vegan classes are at Publix Aprons in Boca soon, and Florida Culinary teaches quick meals on the run — and desserts!
