EatBeat: Indulge at Chocolate Decadence in Boca Tonight

February 3rd, 2011 · 1 Comment

It’s a tough job – but someone has to eat all that chocolate going down in Boca Raton tonight at the 10th annual Chocolate Decadence chocolate, food and wine event.

First up is the amateur baking contest that I’m helping judge. Allegedly 40 entries will appear from community home bakers.

Following that, it’s the pros’ turn – about two dozen of them – and the chefs can do some mean things with cocoa beans. In previous years, Rocco has wooed me with some of the best hot Mexican chocolate in the Americas, and chefs from the Marriott have baked up delectable chocolate tortes, while others made silky-smooth mousses, sinful chocolate brownie stacks, chocolate-infused chili, other savories and countless other creation.

Along with desserts, most of the two dozen chefs will present a savory item as well, so even if you’re not into sweets, come for the other foods, wines, and cocktails. Out under the stars – and it’s all for charity – the 10th annual event supports the many community charitable works of the Junior League. It doesn’t get much better in this piece of Paradise.
