Think you’ve got what it takes as a sandwich maker?
Enter the Mezzetta “Make That Sandwich” contest – and win $25,000 for your creation, and get a trip to Napa Valley to collect it.
Rules are simple: Adults 18 and over must use two or more qualifying products (Mezzetta Brand, Mezzetta Deli Sliced, Napa Valley Bistro, or Kona Coast brands) – things like olives, olive oil, jalapeno and sweet peppers, teriyaki sauce, pasta sauce, roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, capers and more on their sandwiches. Put the fillings on some kind of bread.
Three categories are: Hot sandwich (burgers and hot dogs excluded), cold sandwich and vegetarian sandwich.
The recipe – which must be written to make two sandwiches – must be original and not previously printed or an award winner.
A Philly Italian sub wins
Last year’s winners were “The Balboa” – an Italian Philly, Grand Prize and hot category winner ($25,000); a Grilled Brie with Cherry Pepper Pesto ($1000 – vegetarian sandwich winner), and the Rare Roast Beef with Goat Cheese and Pistachio Pesto, as the cold sandwich winner ($1000).
