The party is Thursday, July 28, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Diners get three wings and two ribs to try; other foods are available and the money raised from sales this day go to the Connor Moran Children’s Cancer Foundation.
A Missouri smoker
The Smokehouse Grille concept is from Erik Frasco and Mark Uffer, who went all the way to Missouri to find the smoker they wanted to use for their barbecue. The giant smoker, situated out back, holds up to 2,000 pounds of meat at once.
It was trial-and-error when they opened their first one last year in the old Boca Wings and Ribs location on Federal Highway, Uffer said. “It took some experimenting and learning the smoker and adjusting temperatures.”
The results won over critics and diners alike; the hickory-and-oak smoked ribs, chicken and wings have gotten high marks on consumer web boards as well as in Boca Magazine and the Sun Sentinel.
Combos of the smoked meats, as well as burgers, steaks, grilled fish, chops and salads are available. Prices are moderate.
