Not everyone remembers to make Valentine’s Day dinner reservations. Or wants to go out on what those in the biz jokingly refer to as “amateur’s night out.”
Chefs Tony Sindaco and Mark Militello have the answer: Call it “The Day After Pop-Up Dinner.”
“We’ll have six courses. I’m going to do three and he’ll do three,” Sindaco said. “We’ll do it here at my restaurant (Sea), as a one-night-only event with only 24 seats available. So it’s pretty exclusive.”
The menu includes poached peaches with goat cheese as an amuse bouche, artisan salume and foie gras, Sindaco’s signature crab en cucumber, and a braised veal cannelloni with wild mushrooms.
The dinner is $95 per person.
The event is sold out as of this morning, but they’re taking names for a possible second seating. “We haven’t decided yet if it’s doable. Mark’s busy on his new restaurant project,” Sindaco said.
Militello is working as a consultant for Shaka Grill, a robata grill format opening in Coconut Creek in the near future.
“I’ve got Douglas Rodriguez interested in doing another pop-up next month,” Sindaco said. “So this may become a monthly event if there’s enough interest.”
Call the restaurant for more information, or to get on a list of upcoming dinners.
