EatBeat: Burger Month at The Ritz – Build Your Own or Indulge in Theirs

Burger fans who like to move beyond beef might want to get to the Ritz Carlton in Manalapan for the second half of May’s Burger Month at Breeze.

What started last year as a burger promotion to bring attention to the beach-side casual bar and hang-out area called Breeze became a month-long fest of special foods between buns – called by the guests and other foodies who weighed in on Facebook. May is national burger month, so you have a match made in PR heaven.

From Ireland to Jamaica – or build your own

The result is a wild ride of burger choices from an Irish burger (sirloin patty toped with corned beef and cabbage) to the Greek lamb burger (with feta cheese and Tzatziki sauce).

Here’s the list of those that remain on the schedule – but in case you don’t like any of their choices, you can create your own concoction from the Build Your Own Burger list with dozens of choices on the menu. Suggest it to chef Ryan Artim, and maybe it’ll be on the menu next year with your name on it.

  • Monday, 17th: Spain Burger: Chorizo, manchego, saffron garlic aioli, fried egg, sourdough roll
  • Tuesday, 18th: French Dip Burger: Brie cheese, caramleized onion, French baguette, served au jus
  • Wednesday, 19th: Jamaican Me Crazy: Jerk beef patty, red pepper aioli, pickled cherry hot peppers, jerk molasses roll
  • Thursday, 20th: Firecracker Sirloin Burger: Pepper jack cheese, grilled jalapeno, roasted tomatoes, onion roll
  • Friday, 21st: Meatloaf Burger: Oven-roasted tomato, mushroom gravy, Swiss cheese, potato roll
  • Saturday, 22nd: Greek Burger: Lamb, feta cheese, tzatziki sauce, wheat roll
  • Sunday, 23rd: Asian Burger: Ahi tuna steak, wakame salad, pickled ginger, wasabi  mayo, sesame kaiser roll
  • Monday, 24th: Turkey Cranberry Burger: Vdalia onion relish, spinach melted Gruyere, focaccia
  • Tuesday, 25th: Fried Buffalo Chicken Burger: Celery, blue cheese, spicy hot sauce, sourdough roll
  • Wednesday, 26th: Irish Burger: Sirloin patty topped with corned beef, Guinness-braised cabbage, spicy horseradish mustard, potato bun
  • Thursday, 27th: Philly Steak Burger: Caramelized onions and mushrooms, banana peppers, provolone cheese, sourdough bun
  • Friday, 28th: Black Bean Veggie Burger: Pepper jack cheese, red onions, fried green tomato, wheat roll
  • Saturday, 29th: General’s Burger: Grilled onion, avocado, mayonnaise, Monterey jack cheese, kaiser roll
  • Sunday, 30th: Loxahatchee Heirloom Tomato Burger: All-American beef patty, basil, avocado, St. Andre cheese, wheat bun
  • Monday, 31st: Backyard Burger: Sirloin burger stuffed with short ribs, baked beans, jicama slaw, chrispy shallots, potato roll
