Feast of Little Italy

The street fest that the Feast of Little Italy brings for the sixth year is taken from the San Gennaro festivals in New York’s Little Italy, which means a host of food vendors selling all kinds of Italian fare. Wine tastings, live entertainment and family activities are part of the fest. It’s family-friendly and you don’t leave hungry. (For cooks: there are ingredient booths worth checking out.) Free admission, but food and wine is priced individually.

  • What: Feast of Little Italy
  • Where: Abacoa Town Center, along Main Street, Jupiter

Cushman’s marks 63 years

Cushman’s Fruit Co. opens its doors for its 63rd season this weekend. Congrats to Allen and his family for this longevity – they’re a West Palm Beach treasure. The honeybell, a mineola tangelo and one of their best sellers, got its name in a stroke of marketing genius from Mr. Cushman; the rest is fruit-shipping history. Saturday is their grand re-opening, with gourmet food tastings, and just in time for non-bakers to order housemade Thanksgiving pies from them. Fruit shipping and fresh fruits as well as numerous “from Florida” gifts make this a de rigeur stop if you’re sending holiday stuff up North.

  • What: Grand Re-Opening
  • Where:  Cushman’s Fruit Co., 3325 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach
