EatBeat: Don Ramon to Open in Downtown WPB

September 9th, 2009 · No Comments

Don Ramon, a long-time favorite Cuban spot for Palm Beach County diners, announced it would open a large, two-story restaurant at 300 Clematis Street this November.

While the focus isn’t away from family fare, this location will feature a late-night venue for diners, the owner said.

Through a public relations release, owner Jose Vilarino said, “Our focus always has been and remains to serve traditional dishes in a comfortable setting that appeals to families. That won’t change, but we’ll add the lively downtown vibe, and offer dishes and cocktails reflective of our new neighborhood. ”

cubancoffeeDon Ramon is known for its traditional Cuban offerings of picadillo, arroz con pollo, ropa vieja, palomillo, and fresh fish filets.

Cafe Cubano to go

At this location, a walk-up window,  open from 6:30 a.m. to 3 a.m., will serve early workers and late-nighters with sandwiches, pastries, coffee and other take-out specialties.

Along with an expanded bar at this location, happy hour specials (including mojitos), lunch and dinner specials will be served, Vilarino said.

The downtown venue becomes Don Ramon’s fourth restaurant — it will replace the one opened last year in Northwood.
