EatBeat: Free Burger at CG Burger in Palm Beach Gardens Monday for Grand Opening

January 9th, 2011 · 4 Comments

If you’ve ever wanted to try a Kobe beef burger, or a bison or brisket or turkey burger – here’s your chance to do it on someone else’s dime. CG Burgers, the newest chain from local grocer and restaurateur, Carmine Giardini, opens Monday, Jan. 10, at the corner of PGA Boulevard and U.S. 1.

To celebrate, diners are being offered one free burger of their choice (per person) from the extensive menu of “gourmet” burgers and toppings from 11 a.m. to 1o p.m. The first 500 to show up get special reward cards.

No extra charge for toppings

We already like the concept that offers all the toppings free when you order a burger. Other joints that charge up to $2 for toppings beyond ketchup and mustard have this all wrong. At CG, you can order “The Works,” “More Stuff” and “Grilled Stuff” to top things off.

CG’s burger meats are ground fresh daily on site – no frozen meat. The vegetarian burgers are cooked on separate grills to maintain the total vegetarian promise. Sides include house-made zucchini fries, hand-cut french fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings.

For non-burger eaters, there’s a “gourmet” salad bar, a carving board with hand-carved sandwiches (check out the roast beef on ‘weck au jus, a Northeastern favorite, featuring a rye roll called kimmelweck) and coal fired 12-inch pizzas with limitless toppings. Roasted wings also are available.

Hand-dipped gelato milkshakes, malts and gelato cones are served along with soft drinks.

CG Burgers in Abacoa

Carmine Giardini

CG Burgers already has an outlet in Abacoa east – co-joined to Carmine’s Coal Fired Pizza. This new one’s design, which integrates both fast-casual eateries in one, is the prototype that will be used for all new CG Burgers.

Giardini and Ron Magruder, former head of Olive Garden, and Cracker Barrel and Pizza Hut business wizard) are set to launch six CG Burgers in South Florida in the next few months in Broward and Dade counties, with a nationwide plan in their sights.
