EatBeat: Il Carnevale at Zuccarelli’s in Gardens Thursday

January 11th, 2010 · No Comments

Based on the famous winter carnival in Italy, Il Carnevale di VeneziaZuccarelli’s restaurant in the PGA Commons will hold a Carnevale of their own Thursday night.

All about the masks

The famous festival that some claim is the oldest in the world is most known for its masks. Participants and tourists alike usually wear some type of camouflage, and many also wear elaborate headdresses, or full-blown costumes. Mask makers are revered in Venice as artists and some of the world’s most beautiful come from that area.

Food – of course!

At Zuccarelli’s, there will be plenty of entertainment, party favors and food samples. The event is free and open to everyone, though foods and wine sampling is $2 to $4 – with some of the proceeds benefiting the South Florida chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
