EatBeat: John G’s Reopening; Ralph and Rosie’s Closes

September 12th, 2011 · 7 Comments

Editor’s note: The official Grand Opening for John G’s is Saturday, Sept. 17; soft-opening meals begin Sept. 14 at 7 a.m. for breakfast – the public is welcome.

John G’s is rumored to be reopening in Plaza de Mer in Manalapan Wednesday (Sept. 14) – we’ll confirm in a repost.

The landmark Lake Worth casino restaurant closed earlier this summer when the casino tear-down was finalized. They chose to move to Manalapan and remain east of the Intracoastal. Callaro’s steakhouse was moving out and John G’s moved in.

For now, it’s breakfast and lunch at John G’s – there’s some rumor that dinner might be in their future a few times a week, but that’s yet to be determined.

John G’s is at 264 S. Ocean Blvd., Manalapan.

Ralph and Rosie’s on Federal Highway in Boynton Beach has closed; no word on whether they’ll reopen elsewhere, or what caused their pull-out. More on that when we learn it.

Is Callaro’s opening in Lake Worth ( downtown)?

The Bohemian Gardens has closed its doors forever, too.
A new restaurant, The Athena Mediterranean, just opened at Hypoluxo Rd. and Lyons Rd., western Lake Worth. Went on opening night; food was decent. Owner doesn’t appear to be Greek, however.

I’ve heard that Callaro’s is going into the old L’Anjou, but I don’t have that confirmed.

Too bad John G’s won’t move back to its original location. Never the less, we will manage to go to the new place, even if a little farther.
