A coffeehouse, an Asian-fusion restaurant, a Thai restaurant, a bakery, a wine bar, and a wine school all are “coming soon” to downtown West Palm Beach. These all are projected to open by the end of the year, but many, by October to hit the season’s opening.
Here’s a look at what’s what and where:
Café Toria will be a coffeehouse and lounge at 410 Evernia. Expect gourmet coffees and teas and social activities in the lounge.
Virginia Philip Wine Shop & Academy is going to be both retail wine sales and classes for budding oenophiles and sommeliers. Philip is the master sommelier overseeing The Breakers wine programs. Her school will be located at 101 N. Clematis Street.
Café Sweets Bakery has cupcakes, cakes, brownies and cookies – all the sweet stuff, on the menu. It is in build-out at 505 Clematis Street.
Uzu Asian Tapas and Sushi Bar will be a Pan-Asian restaurant, going into the old Mambo space.
The Wine Dive at 319 Clematis Street is a tapas-wine bar being created by the folks behind Roxy’s. It goes into the old Bond’s space.
Fuku: Modern Asian Cuisine is building next door to Grease Burger Bar in the former Vendome space in the 200 block. The Groove Restaurant Group is behind them.
Other retail opening
To balance the shops along Clematis, other openings will include Miller’s Fine Decorative Hardware – a shop for bath and kitchen hardware, at 501 S. Olive Ave., and Union of Angels, a new international clothing boutique from designer Cindy Papst, at 537 Clematis.
Twin Power Yoga also will open at 225 Clematis, above Duffy’s.
