EatBeat: Sprinkles Ice Cream Shop in Palm Beach Open Again

March 29th, 2010 · No Comments

A fire shut down Sprinkles Ice Cream shop in July ’09, but Palm Beach’s favorite frozen treat shop reopened, with new decor and some quicker service for sandwiches.

The new interior is “happier,” says owner Donna Marks. Formerly a chocolately brown, it’s now a pistachio color. “The paint color is actually called Key lime – we wanted it to look a little Key West-y and Palm Beachy,” she said. “We want the customers to feel comfortable and relaxed in an upbeat environment.”

The ice cream is crafted for the shop by a manufacturer Marks wouldn’t name, or say whether they’re local. She did, however, note that the triple chocolate chip is still on the menu. It was named No. 1 in the country by a panel from People Magazine in 2003. (That panel, incidentally, included Rocco di Spirito and Homer Simpson.)

Also on the menu are soups and sandwiches made in-house. These are now available pre-made so you can do a grab-and-go, and don’t have to wait for the ice cream line.
