Tanzy’s, a 250-seat independent restaurant, will be part of the coming-soon iPic experience in Boca’s Mizner Park, according to Hamid Hashemi, CEO of the project.
“We’ll have more details later,” he said in a press conference yesterday announcing the new luxury theater, proposed to open in early summer.
The theater, the ninth in the iPic chain, will be built on ideas taken from his original luxe movie experience, Muvico Palace, which he debuted 15 years ago in Boca Raton. That theater featured a restaurant inside the theater; the iPic’s restaurant will be open to the street and accessible to non-movie goers as well.
The 43,000 square-feet theater will have reclining leatherette seats, with food tables, food and beverage service to the premium-extra level and more. Design elements have been gleaned from luxury hotels, Hashemi said.
Other Tanzy’s are in place at the other iPics in Arizona, Texas, California, Illinois, Washington and Wisconsin. Each is independently operated, and cusines, chefs and formats vary among them. “They are determined by the market,” Hashemi said. The goal is to please the movie-goers.
A separate Tanzy’s Express take-out area with prepared food favorites from the restaurant will service moviegoers who can take meals into the theater.
The restaurant and movie theater will have a vivid exposure along Federal Highway, to attract visitors to the shopping area.
Scheduled for opening sometime in May or early June, the theater already is accepting ticket purchases and memberships.
