OK: It’s clearly dress-up month. My previous post told you that you can get free food by wearing a Hawaiian shirt to Guanabana’s tonight – but if you change into a toga, you can have free lamb, champagne and more at Taverna Opa in CityPlace late night.
The event marks their 1-year anniversary, and it’s going to be a weekend long party that kicks off tonight with host/owner Lirim Jacoby on site, roasting a lamb on a spit on the patio.
Greeks know how to enjoy life
Lots of Greek entertainment going down: music folk and fire dancing, a wine tasting, tarot readings, vendors selling goods, etc. around the edges of the restaurant and more. A raffle will win someone a trip to Greece. (Proceeds go to St. Mark’s Greek Orthodox Church in Boca Raton.)

Wear a toga (or a bedsheet) or something resembling one and get free Champagne after 10 p.m. There’s also a belly dancing contest for women and men.
Congrats to Jacobi – and any restaurant owners who open and survive a year in this economy.
