John G’s Closing in Six Months

August 28th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Sad news for longtimers here: You have only six months to eat at the original John G’s. The old Lake Worth Casino building on the ocean at Lake Avenue and A1A will be torn down at last for new development.

They say they’ll reopen elsewhere – at this writing; not clear where.

Read about my favorites at John G’s and learn about this landmark eatery on Lake Worth’s beach.

For years, I have eaten at John G’s and always enjoyed it. Have not been there for quite some time though and am heartbroken they are having to move.

Gosh, John G’s is an institution in this area.

I lived in Lake Worth for years, and even after moving away made it a point to visit Keith behind the grill when I came back to visit friends. I have inlaws in WPB, and it was always on the agenda to visit Johns place. And now it is gone.
I truly hope they reopen, because I need my morning Superstar, with mushrooms and Keilbasa on the side.
My sympathies to the Giragos family on the passing of the patriarch.

They’re very much still open at the same location – the casino remains for now. They closed only for a day to remember their father.
