The Big Heart Brigade is again feeding turkey dinners to the needy and homeless at Thanksgiving. This year’s event is slated to reach 60,000 in our communities – a small city of diners.
Nearly 3,800 are needed to prepare the food, pack it and help deliver the meals at the staging center: Fire Station No. 3 on Northlake Boulevard between now and Thursday.
Here’s a short video of last year’s event:
Big Heart Brigade – No Paid Administrators for this Charity
The Big Heart Brigade is a nonprofit group started in 1992 by a few local businessmen and residents working in their communities. They practice a “hands on” approach — they don’t raise funds to run an administrative machine, but turn each dollar they raise back into the community.
They’ve been doing the Thanksgiving dinner for several years and have joined forces with many other groups and organizations to make it happen.
