Good Friday! Cool Animalhouse Kitchen Tools at Pier 1

January 29th, 2010 · 14 Comments

Toucan can opener

Maybe I was in a fun mood, or they just hit me right, but I was laughing out loud at the kicky designs of the Animalhouse line of kitchen tools I found at Pier 1.

Monkey vegetable peeler

Octopi dish scrubbers

Octopi dish scrubbers

Priced from $5.99 to $19.99, they’re both fun and functional. Not all will be available at all stores; I found some of those shown here in Delray Beach at the Pier 1 on U.S. 1, where the gals there were super friendly as well. (Disclosure info for FCC: I paid for them.) Others come from their catalog online. They’re also available at Amazon.com.

Shopping for bridal shower?

Bee glass brush

Take a look – and if you’re shopping for shower gifts, or a cook’s birthday, a basket of these, or even one or two with some ingredients (pack them into a colander) would be a fun gift.

Ibis garlic press

Designs include several animals and tools, including a toucan can opener, ibis garlic press, veghog veggie brush, monkey peeler, flying fish whisk, shark bottle opener, alligator and hippo head clips, ladybug cutting board, woodpecker scissors, piranha pizza wheel, mouse cheese grater, whale ice cream spade, and beaver flat whisk.

They almost make kitchen chores bearable.

I’d love to have some of these in my kitchen! Those toucan can openers are too cute. And with those octopi dish scrubbers, I won’t have any trouble getting my kid to help do the dishes!

These are so cool! I just love those dish scrubbers. Thanks for the link. I’ll check out their other animal design items. Maybe later when my husband leaves for work … 😉

I’m loving those toucan can openers. They don’t seem to be as bulky as traditional can openers. I hate how they can never seem to fit into my kitchen drawers!

My daughter is getting married soon and my wife is obsessed with filling up their new home with various tools and gadgets fit for a new housewife. I think she’d like these kitchen helpers.

These actually remind me of the kitchen of my childhood. My mom was so much into Precious Moments, that almost all of the gadgets in our kitchen bore the emblem or faces of those cute, little creatures.

The bee glass brush and octopi scrubbers look perfect for scrubbing our baby’s bottles!

These are such awesome gift ideas! Christmas seems to be just around the corner now that August is here.

So true, Robert! Come September, I’m pretty sure that Christmas carols will be playing at malls already.

These are great gift ideas. My favorite is the Toucan can opener. I want one for myself! 🙂

Disney just featured its first Christmas movie. Yikes! Time to make a Christmas list! September is but a few days away and before we know it, Christmas is here.

My wife would get a kick out of these. She has always had a thing for items which make her kitchen unique.

My cousin calls it the “Ber Season” as soon as September rolls in. These items are sure-fire treats for home makers for the holidays. Thanks, Jan! 🙂

I would love to have all of these to my kitchen. This is very useful especially for people like me who loves to cook and do some food preparation.
