Miz Norris, Mam,

I wish to note the comment above by another Wibitonian. We Wibites are a loyal bunch who range far and wide to spread our love of brown hots from that smoking (literally) institution known as Wib's BBQ in Jackson, Mo.

For all of Keefer's braggadocio about some obscure BBQ joint in South Carolina, no aficionado of Sweatman's has appeared to similarly laud their establishment.

They all must be hiking the Appalachian Trail with their governor

Bill,

Good to meet another Wibite. (Wibatonian?)

I'm headed back to Cape in a few days. I'll eat a brown hot in your memory.

If you're from the Cape area, you might like a new blog I started up:

Re: Wibs article

I "car hopped" at Wibs when it was still owned by Wib so that would have been around 1950. Also some during the Jack and "Sweetie" realm.
I recall one Saturday afternoon when the parking lot all of a sudden filled up with an eclectic collection of vans, trucks, trailers etc... The Gypsies had stopped for lunch. They "ate in" so I didn't have to haul trays out to the caravan. They absolutely filled the place. Jack asked me to keep an eye to see if any "Twinkies" were being lifted from the counter tops and sure enough there were. When I let him know what was going on he just said OK... he'd take care of it. Later, I asked him what he did. "When I was adding up the tab I just threw in 50 cents or so every other stool." he said. I took that as a lesson as how to keep being taken advantage of without making a scene. I've never forgotten that.

Congrats on the Best Blog recognition. It's good to see the Dead Trees folks recognize the new world.

Glad you liked the Wib's piece. Next time I'm there, I'll fax you a sandwich.

Fax is better than FedEx: it's cheaper, faster and I can eat the sandwich after I've faxed it.
