Just had Sunday dinner* and ate the best fried chicken I’ve had in a long time! I dined with my new-food-bestfriend Ben Starling, and his great friend and sassy lady, Darlene, and her grandson. (Learned how to properly cook kidneys from Darlene, by the way: “Boil the piss out of them!!” )
The menu at Pritchard’s is super soul food — meatloaf, fried chicken, bbq, baked chicken and dressing, okra and tomatoes (with a tad of sugar), blackeyed peas, rice and gravy (yumola!) and MY kind of cornbread! (NO sugar!) Collard greens and macaroni and cheese and sometimes mashed potatoes are your options. Some might remember this place when they were on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach. They make heavenly pies, too, when the mood strikes them, and their whole family is on board: Mae, Anne and Alphonso. I’ll catch Anne and Mae on camera next time. My new soul food family! Tell them I sent you!
