Chef Dean Max will be preparing a fun “social” Sunday, June 7, at 3030 Ocean in Fort Lauderdale as part of the Slow Food chapter’s events.
Max is a big fisherman himself, and the restaurant is modern seafood-centric. 3030 Ocean is close enough to the ocean to allow the chef to rake up some fresh seaweed should he need it – always a plus when choosing a seafood eatery where I’m concerned.
Max will be preparing locally sourced heirloom roast pig (Pigs can swim – that makes them near seafood, I guess), assorted fresh Florida seafood, tropical fruits and vegetables and plenty of rum, along with artisan beers.
It’s $59 for all of it — tax and tip included. Sign up now — they’re running out of room already.

Jan,
Are you interested or can you connect me with the right people at the Marriott to organize a World Ocean Day Beach Clean-up? I’m friends with the Barefoot Wine events rep who sponsors beach clean-ups too. Lots of options and would be great press for all involved!
