Sublime: Vegetarian Restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale Sells Zillions of Frito Misto

April 22nd, 2010 · No Comments

From my You Asked for It! column today in the Sun Sentinel, frito misto, a fried cauliflower in chili sauce, is one of the most popular dishes on the menu, and a breeze to do with any vegetables – green beans, small balls of cooked sweet potato, broccoli, snow peas, onion, squash, eggplant…You get the picture.

Fruit would work, too, in this tempura-like batter: apples, peaches, plums, prunes or dried apricots stuffed with goat cheese – mmm. I could invent food all day.
