In my column today in the Sun Sentinel, you’ll find recipes from the Turkish restaurant, Efe’s Bistro in Fort Lauderdale, for their wildly popular red lentil soup. It contains a special red pepper paste called biber salcasi – tricky to find, but it has a flavor that’s not matched in any other peppers I’ve tasted.

Lentils cook quickly – and are terrific in fiber content. It’s easy and delicious – a winning combination!

To get the recipe, as well as one for breaded asparagus with a mustard dipping sauce, and others from the Sentinel, read the Sentinel’s Food pages online.
