EatBeat: Slow Food’s Churning and Learning Teaches Raw Milk Uses at Delray Greenmarket Saturday

January 6th, 2012 · No Comments

Slow Food Saturday is this weekend at the Delray Beach Greenmarket on 4th Avenue, and Glades Chapter of Slow Foods is helping teach marketgoers about milk and its byproducts.

A special demonstration by Svetlana Simon, of Heritage Hen Farm, focuses on raw milk – and seven products made from a gallon of it, in a lecture-demo, “The Seven Wonders of Raw Milk.”

At the Greenmarket, local farmers and ranchers from around the state will offer their food products – including heritage hen eggs, Florida grass-fed beef, fresh seafood, and local produce.

Slow Food Saturday takes place the first Saturday of the month during the Greenmarket.

Delray Beach Greenmarket, along SE 4th Avenue south of Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach;  www.delraygreenmarket.com. Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through May.
